A volunteer-led nonprofit based in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, Pleasant Valley Hawks works to provide a safe, enriching environment for local youth to engage in football and cheerleading. The organization offers opportunities for young football players and cheerleaders ages 4 to 14. Striving to give children the necessary tools to become outstanding athletes and perform exceptionally at the high school level, it organizes its programs into multiple age and weight classes to ensure balanced competition. Its varying divisions also include varsity and junior varsity seasons.
In addition to teaching the fundamentals of both sports, Pleasant Valley Hawks works to instill positive values related to good sportsmanship. The organization encourages players to develop and exhibit honesty, loyalty, reverence, and courage; to behave with self-discipline; and to treat others with respect.
The Pleasant Valley Hawks football teams and cheerleaders practice at Pleasant Valley School in Mullica Hill and play their games in Mullica Hill and elsewhere in Harrison Township. They compete against other teams in the South Jersey Independent Youth Football Association, which shares the Hawks’ goal of promoting good sportsmanship and citizenship.
